History

Did you know? The Westside Ballet of Santa Monica performs back to the Broad Stage with its annual Nutcracker show in its sixth year now. This show is the longest-running in Los Angeles history! Since 1973, it has been a holiday tradition for the Westside Ballet to perform the Nutcracker. The presentation will be done along with the Santa Monica College Symphony Orchestra, playing the majestic score of Tchaikovsky. In two acts, the traditional full-length ballet will feature a lighthearted dance routine, detailed setting, and grand outfits. This performance is known for its long history and the way it portrays the original version of George Balanchine, which is remarkable. In addition to that, it also brings to life the traditional Petipa classic with its musical scoring, quality performance, and integrity.

COVID-19 Protocols

In observance of the safety protocols, a mandatory vaccination policy will be implemented for all visitors. This protocol is applicable for all guests who will be attending the Broad Stage. Patrons who are 12 years and older will be required to show their proof of vaccination in person. This proof will be required prior to entering the theater. For children below 12 years old who are not yet vaccinated, proof of negative COVID PCR test will be required. The test should not be taken more than 72 hours before the scheduled performance. In order to stop the spread of COVID-19, proper use of masks is required for all audiences. The Westside Ballet of Santa Monica will impose this rule regardless of age or vaccination status.
