Here Are Some Mighty Fine Liquor Stores Los Angeles

Do you like to host big blowout parties? Would you rather sip a well-crafted libation in your living room after a hard day at work? Whichever the case may be, you need to know the location of the best liquor store close to you. You might like a vodka martini James Bond-style, a fifteen-year-old Macallan aged in an elegant oak cask, or you might prefer a ten dollar fortified boxed wine. Whether it’s quality or quantity, clear liquor or brown, if you desire things to do Los Angeles, hunting down the best purveyor of spirituous beverages should be a priority for you. Don’t fret; we did the hard work already. Here are some of our favorite spots.

Bogie’s Liquors

Located on Melrose Avenue in Hollywood, these guys have been open for more than forty years, and their formula works. They’ve got an enormous selection of high-end and low-end liquors alike, as well as beer, wine, and kegs. You can get discounts buying in bulk, and they deliver, too. They’re also eager to talk to you about the fine art of mixology, and they’re never shy with their recommendations. Their tequilas alone are worth stopping in, as they’ve got every conceivable bottle of 1800, Cabo Wabo, Don Julio, Jose Cuervo, and so many more.

Jason’s Wines and Spirits

Jason’s might not have quite the selection of Bogie’s, but their down-home neighborhood charm makes up for it. On East 9th Street in the California Market Center, they have cigarettes, soft drinks, and lots of different candies in addition to spirits. Probably the best reason to drop by, though, is the imported beer selection. They have hundreds, from every country imaginable, and their dark Belgian style Trappist beers are guaranteed to put some hair on your chest. There are also IPAs, lagers, stouts, you name it. They also have plenty of mixers, as well as cards, dice, and everything else you’ll need to make it a party.

Cap N’ Cork Junior Market

This place is a joy to visit, but also a dangerous temptation. It can take up a lot of both your time and money stopping here. On Hillhurst Avenue in Los Feliz, this store has a deli that you shouldn’t sleep on. You can get chips, dips, sliced meats, and whatever else you need to munch on, then turn your attention to the alcohol where it belongs. Wine, beer, and spirits are represented here in equal measure. Whether you want Chimay or Yuengling, Pabst or Guinness or Killian’s, they have it, along with champagne, flavored vodkas, and every other manner of intoxicant. Whatever you’re looking for, it’s likely to be on these shelves, and at very reasonable prices, too.

Once you’re well stocked up and ready to party, head home, set up, and wait for the guests to arrive. Or retreat to your room with your concoction and spend an evening catching up with the Dodgers or the Clippers. Either way, enjoy, and as always, don’t drink and drive.
